Served in the United States Marine Corps 1953-1956

Attended Ventura College, where he played football for Coach Jim Moore

Earned B.A. degree from Fresno State University in 1964

Attended Azusa Pacific University, awarded MED degree in 1967

COACHING EXPERIENCE

Served as assistant football coach under Lou Cvijanovich at Santa Clara High School in 1962 & 1963. The 1963 team advanced to CIF Semi-Finals, the 1964 team won the CIF Championship

Fresno State — served as graduate assistant

Accepted position at Rio Mesa High School in 1965 — served as assistant football coach to George Ragsdale for three years

Named head football coach at Rio Mesa High School in 1968

Frontier League Champions 1971, 1973, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983

Channel League Champions 1985

Teams have appeared in CIF Playoffs 13 times

Named Coach of the Year in 1971, 1973, 1977, 1983
