Started a 23-year career as one of the most prominent softball pitchers in Southern California
Established local and national pitching records, including two consecutive no-hit, no-run performances in 1938 — struck out a total of 36 batters in those two games
Played against Joe Louis and his world-class touring Brown Bombers in 1938 — David’s team defeated the Bombers 5-0, 6-2, and 6-1
Pitched his Commerce Finance Team to a Southern California Championship in the Los Angeles Examiner Tournament — 1938
Past President of the Salinas Men’s Bowling Association 1976-1977; served on board of directors for 10 years
