League champion in shot put senior year. Named All-American, Honorable Mention his senior year at quarterback, and All-Country junior and senior years

Earned All Western States honors as a fullback in 1953.

First head coach at Channel Islands High School in Oxnard, California
During 26-year tenure, from 1967 to 1992, established a 431-220-4 record to become the winningest baseball coach in Ventura County
Teams won 9 Frontier League Championships and 1 Marmonte League title. His 1969 squad won the CIF division championship
