Channel Islands Baseball won nine League titles and one CIF championship during his coaching tenure
Coach Gershon ranks third in career wins in Ventura County High School Football
He was the fastest coach to reach one hundred wins in Ventura County
Three teams won eleven games in a season
Channel Islands had twelve CIF playoff appearances

The Raiders were Marmonte League champions six times

COMMUNITY
Coach Gershon’s teams were always distinguished by both their football skills and their sportsmanship
To acknowledge this fact the Ventura County Coaches Association designated the annual county sportsmanship recognition as the Joel Gershon Award
Coach Gershon was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
