A native of Mexico, Flores was educated in Oxnard elementary schools, Channel Island High School, and Oxnard College.
With an early interest in Wrestling he become involved in Karate training.
In 1977-1979 he was a member of the Oxnard All-Stars Full Contact Karate Team with an 8-0 record.
In 1977 he won the California Amateur Kick Boxing Championship.
In 1979 he won the World Karate Association United States Featherweight Kick Boxing Championship.
In 1981 he won the International Kick Boxing Association’s World Featherweight Championship.
Had an 11-O amateur record and a 23-2 professional record.
Flores has coached and trained World Class Champion Karate and Kick Boxers.
